Vade Mecum
From my Bloglines account of Dictionary.com's brilliant Word of the Day service for Friday June 4, 2004:
vade mecum \vay-dee-MEE-kuhm; vah-dee-MAY-\, noun:
1. A book for ready reference; a manual; a handbook.
2. A useful thing that one regularly carries about.
Oh - a towel!!!
(check www.towelday.org or just about any volume of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy if you are not enough of a sassy frood to know what that's all about...)
